Basic Assignments The Group Exercise Instructor will lead land exercise classes in Zumba, Yoga, Pilates, Salsa, Kickboxing, Boot Camp/Conditioning, Stretching, Spinning/Indoor Cycling, Aerobics, and/or Senior Fitness. Instructors are needed for morning and evening classes. The East Palo Alto Family YMCA is part of the Mid-Peninsula Association. East Palo Alto YMCA is brand new, state-of-the-art facility with a growing membership base. This well-equipped facility is designed to bring total health to its members and the surrounding community. Times and days of the week are flexible.

Major Functions The Group Exercise Instructor is responsible for providing safe and effective group exercise classes within his/her specialty. S/he will educate and empower members with their personal wellness goals. The group exercise instructor will provide high-quality member services and present a positive and motivating attitude to ensure that all members are well-connected to, and valued at the facility.

Qualifications Experience leading group exercise classes. This position requires exceptional communication skills and a positive attitude in addition to related field experience in Health and Fitness (YMCA or outside group exercise certification is desired). Must be a flexible and motivated individual with the ability to effectively convey information and respond to questions in fitness.
