Basic Assignments This position will supervise and manage all general front desk coverage functions focusing on: exquisite customer service, appropriate scheduling and creating an atmosphere that facilitates customer service communication, and team work at the front desk. The Marketing and Membership Director must facilitate relationships with and between staff members, volunteers, members, program participants and the service community the YMCA serves.
Major Functions This is a great opportunity for a self-motivated, customer- service oriented, and organized professional to join a dynamic and energetic leadership team at Page Mill YMCA in Palo Alto, CA. This position will provide leadership to the following areas and teams:

• Membership Engagement
• Enhancing the Membership Experience
• Membership Retention and Promotion in Accordance with the Purpose and Policies of the Association
• Welcome Center Team
• Provides a link between the Membership Team and the Member Driven Areas of the Branch, particularly Fitness and Group Exercise
• Branch Computer System and Computer Program as it pertains to Membership and Marketing
• Activity Promotion and Marketing for Special Events
• Maintain seamless communication between Page Mill YMCA and the Business Resource Center (BRC handles billing in relation to Membership at Page Mill)
• Maintain constant communication with the Marketing and Graphic Design Department of the YMCA Association
 
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, education, social sciences, or equivalent area. One or more years’ of experience with staff supervision, management and customer service. Two or more years of related experience in membership marketing and / or sales preferred. Experience with computers, including personal computer application such as database and word processing. Ability to develop effective working relationships with both staff and volunteer driven committees, and to effectively communicate and problem-solve. Ability to take initiative and respond to a dynamic work environment. Strong leadership skills, high degree of accuracy, skill with quantitative information and ability to make decisions based on logical reasoning. Must have good interpersonal, public relations and communication skills, including the ability to make oral presentation.
