Basic Assignments 40 hrs per week. Monday - Friday. Desk located in office cubicle at Palo Alto Family YMCA.
Major Functions • Reconciles and processes daily receivables, as well as weekly, monthly, quarterly & annual items/materials
• Processes and tracks accounts payable items and data, NSF collection items, etc.
• Prepares daily, weekly, monthly, annual and as needed reports
• Manages hard and soft copy files utilizing specific File Retention and Risk Management Best Practices
• Prepares and provides required documentation
• Secures and maintains current all required trainings
• Attends/participates in required meetings, functions and events
• Serves as key Association, branch and department team member.
• Follows specified best practices, procedures and policies
• Supports the YMCA Mission and YMCA Goals and initiatives
• Completes other tasks as requested by supervisor
 
Qualifications • At least high-school diploma or equivalent
• At least three years previous experience in administrative/clerical positions
• Excellent clerical skills (filing, alphabetizing, records verification/organization, office machinery utilization, etc)
• High degree of dependability, accuracy and attention to detail as well as the ability to learn quickly and train others, multi-tasking skills
• Demonstrable problem solving and math skills
• Competence and high level of comfort using Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel, etc)
• Previous data entry and database management experience
• Excellent customer service skills, tact, patience, discretion, reliability, Ability to both work independently and work as part of a cohesive team
• Excellent English communication skills (both written and verbal). Vocal, auditory and visual ability to communicate effectively with others, and read/write large amounts of text both electronically and on paper
• Ability to understand and support the YMCA’s mission and core values of responsibility, respect, honesty & caring
• Attains and maintains current required staff certifications
