Basic Assignments This position is under the direction of the Associate Executive Director of the Sequoia YMCA. It is responsible for the management and operations of the Camp and Youth Sports departments of the branch, including staff supervision, fiscal control, program registration, facility management, marketing, financial development, involvement in Association-wide functions, and personal -professional development.
Major Functions Fitness Programming for Youth. Implements Fit Kids Program as an outreach program in the school and a Y membership benefit.
Day Camp: Provide supervision of staff and facilitation of program during school holidays and summer.
Youth Sports : Supervise (directly and indirectly) youth sports programming including Catching On, Gym Ventures and Youth Basketball and manage programming based on the needs of our community.
Community Support Campaign – Be an active participant in Community Support Campaign by being a staff liaison to one team as well as additional duties to make the campaign successful.
 
Qualifications The Youth Program Associate Director must have the educational background required for certification as a YMCA Director including a bachelor’s degree. The person must possess personal skills and experience in a wide range of activities including delivery of training, supervision, and customer service. The person must be able to develop systems for day to day operations of the YMCA.

This position is heavily weighted in human relations skills & sales skills. The person must have a clear understanding of the relation of community partnerships to the YMCA and of staff to volunteers. This person must also have the ability & desire to work in ratio during programming if the need arises. The director must be able to delegate appropriate responsibility to both staff and volunteers involved in day to day operations. The director must be able to supervise and motivate others toward achievement of the mission and objectives of this YMCA.
