Basic Assignments This position typically works Monday - Friday with occasional nights and weekends.

Major Functions The Aquatic Wellness Director provides leadership and direction to the day to day operations of the aquatic facility, supervision and training of the lifeguards following The Redwoods Group standards and enhancing the water fitness programs and services with focus on the health seeker population and member relations. The position is teamed with Healthy Lifestyles Director. The two directors work closely with other member driven areas of the branch, particularly fitness and membership. It also establishes and maintains an effective system of increased member connectedness by building relationships and providing a path of success that is individualized for each member. The successful candidate will see customer service as the number one expectation of members and the number one focus of staff at all levels.

Qualifications Minimum two years experience in supervision, aquatic fitness and customer service in the non-profit field. Demonstrated success providing service in a high volume community oriented environment. Bachelor�s degree in a health or human services field. This position is heavily weighted in human relations skills and current aquatic certifications. The person must have a clear understanding of the relation of members to the YMCA and of staff to volunteers. They need to see staff development as a necessary foundation to a healthy and successful branch.
